The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the promotion hopefuls, with the option of a further season.

The transfer fee for the deal is undisclosed, but it had been rumoured to be approximately AU$3.25 million.

"I couldn't be happier and I'm just excited to be starting the next chapter of my career," Irvine told the club website.

"It has all happened relatively quickly, but once I found out about the interest from Hull City it was an easy decision even though leaving Burton was difficult in its own way.

"I just can't wait to get started now."

Irvine missed Burton's Saturday fixture against Sheffield Wednesday due to the pending transfer.

The Melbourne-born talent made 49 appearances and scored 11 goals for the Brewers, including one earlier this season against the Tigers.

Burton manager Nigel Clough said: "Jackson has done very well for us in the time he has been with us and we now wish him well for the future."

Burton, who narrowly avoided the drop last term, are currently 21st while Hull are eighth following relegation from the Premier League in 2016-17.
