ROMA midfielder Simone Perrotta could miss Euro 2008 due to a calf injury sustained in Saturday's Coppa Italia final.
The 30-year-old limped away from his side's 2-1 triumph over Internazionale and it is feared the injury is more serious than just cramp, which was the initial diagnosis.
He will undergo further tests at the national team's training facility in Coverciano on Monday and if no assurances can be given, he may be the one player Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has to exclude from his 24-man provisional squad for the European Championships.
Donadoni has until midday on Wednesday to decide his final squad of 23 players and it had been widely expected that a striker would be omitted, but Perrotta's injury could force the coach into a rethink.
