Mile has put pen to paper on a three year contract and will link up with the squad  - where Popovic is now based - when they return from their pre-season tour of the West Country.

"I am delighted to be joining Crystal Palace Football Club at this stage in my career," said Jedinak last night.

"I am impressed by Dougie Freedman and what he wants to achieve at the club and I cannot wait to get started.

"Crystal Palace has a fantastic heritage and a wonderful set of fans and I am looking forward to playing in front of them at Selhurst Park.

"Playing in the UK has always been an ambition of mine and I am totally determined to make my time here an absolute success."

Having started his career at Sydney United and cnetral Coast Mariners, the 26 year old midfielder has won 25 Australia caps but has been seeking a new side since leaving Gençlerbirliği in June.

Palace manager Freedman added: "I am absolutely delighted with this signing.

"I have tracked Mile for some time since he was first brought to our attention by Tony Popovic and his contacts in Australia.

"Mile has a fantastic international pedigree and I know he will be a huge success at the club. Mile attracted attention from a number of clubs and I am so pleased that he finally chose Crystal Palace."
