Brentford’s Aussie star Adam Griffiths is a “60-40 chance” of joining A-League outfit Newcastle Jets in the next day or two.
Griffiths, 27, who joined The Bees from Bournemouth last season, has also played for Watford and Belgium’s Oostende over the last three years. Prior to that, the 188cm defender/midfielder had spells with Northern Spirit and Newcastle United in the old NSL.
Adam is one of the three Griffiths footballing brothers. Joel played for the Jets last season and is a Socceroo while Ryan was part of the Socceroos squad in China on the weekend and has signed for Chinese club Liaoning on a year-long loan from Romanian side Rapid Bucharest.
Brentford, second bottom of the Coca Cola League One and six points adrift of third bottom Cheltenham, are expected to be relegated at the end of this season.
Sources have confirmed to www.au.fourfourtwo.com that Griffiths is now likely to jump ship and return to Oz for the next A-League season.
