Former Adelaide United defender Costanzo made his debut for the club in last night's 4-0 win over Hamilton Olympic having virtually just stepped off the plane from South Australia.

He was given a full run out for his new team and Van Egmond says he will certainly come into the mix for the Asian Champions League opener next week.

Van Egmond told au.fourfourtwo.com today: "We wanted to have a look at Ang as he hasn't played too much recently and it was good to see him come through it.

"Providing he comes through okay in the training sessions on Thursday and Friday then he certainly comes into the mix."

His arrival adds to the collection of new faces that already includes the likes of Sasho Petrovski, Ljubo Milicevic and Nikolai Topor-Stanley.

It could leave the coach with a happy selection headache when it comes to selecting his back four but he doesn't care about that.

"Those are the sort of options any coach wants," he said. "But what really pleases me is when I look at this squad now I feel we've a team of men there.

"At times in the A-League season we forced to play kids through necessity rather than choice and I'm delighted we've been able to bring in these players to add to that youth.

"We know the ACL is going to present tough challenges and experience is very important. There's a real positive feel around the camp and we're looking forward to heading off (to China) on Saturday.

"All the players want to be part of this and we know that success in the competition won't be down to just 11 players. Everyone has to be ready to play their part."

The Jets goalscorers in their latest trial triumph were Sean Rooney (2), Petrovski and Fabio Vignaroli.
