Brisbane Roar FC have re-signed Luke DeVere for a further two seasons.
The 27-year-old centre-back said he was thrilled to continue his footballing journey at the club he joined as a teenager.
“I’m excited to be extending my contract with Brisbane, the team that gave me my first opportunity in professional football,” he said.
“We have such a great Club here in Queensland and I can’t wait for what the future holds.
“With this extremely talented group of players I’m looking forward to a successful future.”
DeVere has played the majority of his football in the A-league for Brisbane, making 87 appearances and scoring four goals after a brief stint in South Korea.
The defender’s 2015/16 campaign was ruined by injury but hard work and determination saw DeVere reestablish himself in the heart of Brisbane’s backline, starting every game this season.
His defensive partnership with Jade North has been tough to crack, with the Roar boasting the A-League’s second best defensive record.
“Luke is a valuable member of our squad who not only leads by example but embraces the values we have at the football club. We are excited about the future,” Football Director Craig Moore said.
“He has shown what a great professional he is and has not missed a beat this season. I have no doubt that Luke will continue to grow as a player and a person at the Roar.”
Brisbane face the Wanderers on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.
