In the first minute of the game, a well timed through ball by Zoran Petrevski found Andrew Barisic, whose shot was well saved and put through for a corner by Dean Anastasiadis.

From that corner, Dario Matkovic found Zoran Petrevski and he headed home his first goal of the season.

Andrew Barisic was again involved in the sixth minute.
His low cross was intelligently left by Zoran Petrevski who took the defender out of position, and Alex Firatzoglu who wasn’t expecting the pass just missed.

But in the 13th minute Alex Firatzoglu made a mends.

A diagonal ball by Dario Matkovic found Zoran Petrevski, who headed it back towards Alex Firatzoglu, were he met the ball with a diving header and put the Knights 2-0l up.

South Melbourne’s first chance came in the 22nd minute.

A free kick taken by Fernando De Moraes from 30 yards out and directly in front, forced a full stretched Knights keeper to pull of a great save.

In the 24th minute a smart run by Anthony Pelikan fooled South Melbourne’s defence and his long powerful drive from 25 yards out forced Dean Anastasiadis to punch the ball out.

Three minutes later, Goran Zoric had a clear chance inside the 18 yard box after a cross went over everyone’s head and Savas had to pull off another top class save to stop his volley.

In the second half South Melbourne put Ricky Diaco on, and the substitution almost payed off in the 49th minute.

Ramazan Tavsancioglu made a run into the box, passed it to Ricky Diaco who was waiting on the penalty spot and his blasted shot forced Savas into catching it on his second attempt.

On the 70th minute, Fernando De Moraes got past the off side trap and was heading towards the goals, but Matthew Grbesa, one of the best players of the day, quickly chased back and put in a well timed tackle.

Three minutes later Shane Nunes had the best chance for South Melbourne.

From a cross, Shane Nunes got high and his header was just cleared of the line by Dario Matkovic, and that left the final score line at 2-0 to the Knights.
