South Korea coach Huh Jung-moo has named a 23-man squad drawn almost entirely from the K-League for the East Asian Championship, which gets under way on February 17 in Chongqing, China.
Olympic team stars Lee Kun-ho of Daegu and Ulsan Hyundai Horang-I's Oh Jang-eun have been recalled by Huh and, with the exception of Kim Nam-il who plays for J. League club Vissel Kobe, the group is made up of domestic-based players.
Goalkeeper Kim Byung-ji and striker Jung Jo-gook, both of FC Seoul, will play no part in the biennial tournament after picking up injuries in the recent international friendly against Chile.
The Taeguk Warriors take on hosts and holders China on February 17, World Cup qualifying opponents, North Korea three days later before ending their campaign against Japan on February 23.
