DEPARTING Ajax coach Adrie Koster has called on his side to take a positive attitude into their Champions League play-off second leg tie against Luke Wilkshire's FC Twente.
Koster will take charge of the capital club for the final time on Sunday hoping he can sign off with a win that will take them into Europe's premier club competition next season.
If they are to do that, however, the Amsterdammers must overcome a 2-1 deficit from the first leg in Enschede.
Any other than victory will see incoming boss Marco van Basten having to contend himself with a place the UEFA Cup.
And Koster said: "The players know the importance. We need to get into the pre-round for the Champions League. As always, we will take the initiative in the ArenA. It is not in our nature to play differently."
To add to Koster's woes he is without five players for the match.
Thomas Vermaelen, Urby Emanuelson, Laurent Delorge and Gregory van der Wiel all sit out through injury. Jan Vertonghen is suspended, so youth team captain Donovan Slijngaard will join the squad.
FC Twente coach Fred Rutten is also preparing to leave his post after Sunday's match.
Rutten will join Schalke next season and his hopes guiding Twente to the Champions League for the first time in their history were boosted following a hugely impressive first-leg display.
He said: "Our position is reasonable. But because of the goal that Ajax scored it is not over. The opponent must win and we would like to write history."
Rutten will have to do without the suspended Romano Denneboom, while top scorer Blaise N'Kufo may need pain-killing injections as he is struggling with a groin injury.
