ROBBIE Kruse believes it is only a matter of time before Melbourne Victory are firing on all cylinders as he prepares for the clash with former club Brisbane Roar on Sunday.
Victory have struggled for consistency so far and Kruse (along with his fellow strikers) have been ordered to be more selfish in front of goal by boss Ernie Merrick.
The youngster is happy to take that advice on board ahead of the Roar clash - a fixture that last season saw him targeted for some special attention by his old teammates.
Kruse and Mate Dugandzic have been chosen attackers so far - with Archie Thompson still injured - but the arrival of Ricardinho has given the club another option.
"(Ricardinho) looked good off the bench on the weekend," Kruse told the Herald Sun.
"It's healthy competition for places, so everyone is going to be on their toes. Hopefully if I get the nod I can form a good partnership with him or Mate or whoever.
"We've been playing well and creating chances and eventually we're going to start clicking and scoring and we'll definitely be a dangerous side."
