This is the knockout Cup competition and Armadale has rode their luck over the past few Cup rounds with a nerve-racking penalty shootout victory over Western Knights in Round 2 and then a pulsating 3-2 win over Cockburn City in the Qualifying Finals despite being 2-0 down and with just 10 men.

Matt Barlow was the star that afternoon with a hat-trick and he along with Western Australian stars James Robinson and goalkeeper Cyril Sharrock will need to be on their game against Floreat.

The reigning Cup champions have cruised through the competition with a 3-0 romp of Sorrento last time out, but have struggled of late in the APB State Premier League.

Athena hasn't had a victory since Round 13 in the League and will need to regain their early season form which had them at the top of the table.

WA's Branimir Mikulic, John Migas and Johny Mirco will be crucial players yet again for Athena, who will be desperate for a win at home on Sunday to set up their Cup defence in the Final.

Despite sitting at the wrong end of the APB State Premier League table, Swan United is proof that the Cup competition can be anyone's for the taking by reaching the Semi Final stage.

Their opponents will be league leaders Stirling Lions on Saturday, who have been unchallenged thus far in the State League Cup.

Paul Lincoln's Lions have gone undefeated in six league matches, while Swan United are brimming with smiles after a thrilling 3-2 win over ECU Joondalup last weekend.

Macedonia Park will play host to the contest which will decide the first team to enter the 2011 State League Cup Final.

Mario Marcinko continues to regularly find the net for Stirling and has been one of the most in-form players in the entire league, leaving the Swan defence a challenging task this weekend to stop the young striker.

United's Tom Shepheard, James Sammut and star between the sticks, Cory Hugo, will be key to their side's chances of advancing to one of the biggest days on the Football West calendar.

Both matches will kick off at 2.30pm.
