Lazio captain Tommaso Rocchi will be sidelined for over a month after sustaining an injury at the Olympics, the Italian club have confirmed.
Lazio were left fuming when Rocchi suffered a hairline fracture while competing for Italy in Beijing and medical tests have now revealed the 30-year-old is unlikely to return before the end of September.
A brief statement on the Lazio website, www.sslazio.it, confirmed the injury, adding: "The player will undergo a specific rehabilitative physiotherapy programme in anticipation of further medical tests planned for the beginning of September.
"At the current moment, based on the checks done, the diagnosis has been confirmed as 40 days absence if there are no complications."
