The talented young midfielder suffered a setback after he pulled up with hamstring soreness following the draw with the Mariners on Saturday night. The 18 year old felt tightness in his hamstring during the match at Canberra Stadium.

The injury was enough to see him return with United's squad to Adelaide rather than head to Sydney, where he was expected to join Reds goalkeeper Mark Birighitti and the rest of the Qantas Young Socceroos (Australia U-20s) squad ahead of the AFC U-19 Championship 2010 Qualifiers in Indonesia.

An MRI scan on Monday was expected to reveal the extent of Leckie's injury but the results were likely to only be known today (Tuesday) morning.

Leckie has enjoyed a bright start to his professional career since signing with United in September and the attacking midfielder has played in the Reds' last seven games, starting in the past three.

However, regardless of the outcome of the scan, it is unlikely Leckie will face Brisbane Roar at Hindmarsh Stadium this Friday night.
