ADELAIDE United vice-skipper Lucas Pantelis is delighted to have notched his century at Hindmarsh but is painfully aware the trophy cabinet remains frustratingly bare.
"Playing 100 games for one club is kind of special and to do it with Adelaide United, a team in my home town is very special," Pantelis said.
"I had a year off with my knee reconstruction, so to finally get there is probably a real achievement."
The former Australian Under 23, 20 and 17 representative has come off his finest domestic season with the Reds after playing 23 games, in which he led United's goal scoring.
Pantelis identifies his goal scoring exploits at the club, in which he has finished as the leading scorer twice, as a highlight of the 100 games so far, while the club's remarkable run to the AFC Champions League Final and A-League Grand Final in 2008/09 are also amongst his fondest memories.
But despite that, there is one thing missing that he hopes he will not have to wait another 100 games to experience.
"I've been very proud to have been the leading scorer at the club twice so that's probably a highlight, as well as that run we had in 2008 with the ACL Final and the A-League Grand Final," Pantelis said.
"But there's still no silverware so I'm still very motivated to win something with Adelaide United."
Pantelis became the sixth player to reach the milestone, and having recently signed an extension with the Reds that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2011/12 season, there is set to be plenty more games to add to his tally.
