Senijad Ibricic, Miralem Pjanic and Edin Dzeko put the result beyond doubt before a quarter of the contest had been played and Bosnia were able to put it in cruise control for the rest of the way.

The gulf in class between the two teams was obvious to see.

Bosnia took the lead with only five minutes gone as Pjanic and Zvjezdan Misimovic combined well on the right before Pjanic's cross found Ibricic who headed home.

They doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Vedad Ibisevic was brought down on the edge of the area, and Pjanic swept the ball over the crossbar and into the net.

Dzeko then completed the scoring in the 16th minute, latching on to a nice ball from Misimovic before rounding the goalkeeper and finishing into an empty net.

Bosnia clearly turned down the tempo after that, but still had chances to add to their lead.

Emir Spahic struck a post from Misimovic's corner in the 68th minute, and substitute Ermin Zec looked bright, setting up a chance which Dzeko headed just wide.

Zec got a chance of his own seven minutes from time, but put it just wide.

The result will give Bosnia plenty of confidence as they prepare to face a France side who still look to be in disarray after the World Cup, losing 1-0 to Belarus in Paris tonight.
