Malaysia today completed the formalities of a 4-2 aggregate victory over Indonesia to be crowned Suzuki Cup champions.
Indonesia, who were 3-0 down from the first leg, missed an opportunity to get themselves back in the game when Firman Utina's 15th-minute penalty was saved by Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.
Safee Sali then scored his fifth goal of the tournament in the 54th minute to make it 4-0 on aggregate, effectively ending any slim hopes of a comeback.
And Malaysia were glad of their cushion when Mohammad Nasuha and Muhammad Ridwan both scored in the last 20 minutes.
