The Italian has been without a club since leaving Manchester City and insists that he would consider any offer to manage at the Stadio Olimpico should Andreazzoli depart, despite previously having played for and managed their bitter cross-town rivals, Lazio.

Mancini won one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, a UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and a UEFA Super Cup while playing for Lazio, and also led them to a further Coppa Italia win as manager.

"Would I accept the Roma post? I am a professional and I’m ready to work anywhere," Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.

"I don’t rule anything out. Will I return to Italy? I don’t know, it’s too early to say."

Mancini's claim comes after Manchester City fans took out an advert in an Italian newspaper thanking him for his efforts during his stay at the Etihad Stadium.

The advert in Gazzetta Dello Sport read: "Grazie Mancini. Once a blue, always a blue."

It follows a similar item Mancini paid for in the Manchester Evening News which read: "Manchester City supporters. Three unforgettable years. You will always be in my heart. Ciao. Roberto Mancini."
