Diego Maradona says Argentina's style of play under coach Alfio Basile bores him.
Basile was the last coach to win a trophy with the Albicelestes - the 1993 Copa America - but 1986 World Cup-winner Maradona does not believe he is getting the best from the current crop of internationals.
He told Radio La Red: "I have to be honest: I get bored by the way the national team play.
"Our players have more potential than the team is showing on the pitch against B-grade teams. We are not making the most of them."
Despite his disappointment at the team, there are plenty of players Maradona is keen on.
He said: "I like little forwards to play for Argentina, such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez, plus Roman (Riquelme), (Javier) Mascherano and (Fernando) Gago and (Martin) Demichelis at the back."
Maradona had special praise for Atletico Madrid forward Aguero, whose two goals helped his side win 4-2 against Barcelona on Saturday.
"When Ronaldinho netted the bicycle kick, I thought Barcelona's confidence would grow, but then Sergio woke up," said Maradona.
"With his quality, he made things difficult for (Carles) Puyol and (Gabriel) Milito, and that had a contagious effect."
