The Central Coast side are in the power position on the ladder after a vital 2-1 win against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh.

"I think we can improve thirty to forty percent between now and the end of the season and I honestly believe that," said McKinna.

"We’re starting to get our full squad back, for the last ten or twelve games we’ve basically had fifteen players to pick from, this is the first time we’ve left three or four boys at home.

"Some of the football we played and some of the chances we created was pleasing and the way we hung on, it was nervy at the end and every time we come here it seems to be the same, Adelaide always finish strong and the crowd gets right behind them.

"Credit to the boys, the last five minutes we wound the game up well and showed a bit of experience and it was good all round."

He added. "We said before the game that any away game in Australia is very hard and getting any points out of an away game is great.

"We came here in the first round and got nothing out of it, so to come here and play so well for seventy minutes and then dig in for the last twenty minutes, it was a good performance.

"It wasn’t easy, Adelaide had a few chances near the end, but we defended well and defended as a team.

"We felt comfortable for the first sixty or seventy minutes and we should have scored more goals, we could have been up by three or four quite easily."

United Coach Aurelio Vidmar was filthy on his team’s first half performance and said it would not have been justice to have taken any points from the game.

“We created a lot more chances in that last 25 minutes but if we had taken a draw it would have been highway robbery," Vidmar said.

“That’s why they’re (Central Coast) on top of the table, they’re a much more physical side, balanced side, tougher side and we make elementary mistakes week in week out.

"It’s back to the drawing board, we’ve got four grand finals and it’s back to work, that’s it.”
