Alex Chidiac - 6

Neat footwork to break through the Thai lines and was the Matildas only avenue forward with freedom in the opening quarter of the match. Lost her spark as the first half wore on and the Matildas, surprisingly, were on the back foot. Some great work rate in the second half helped the Matildas try and settle.

Chloe Logarzo - 6

Found more space on the ball drifting across the front third as she was isolated out on the left flank. A little quiet in the first half but looked lively when she was on the ball especially when push came to shove and she was pulling everything out of the tank.

Kyah Simon - 5

Some early flair opened up some avenues for attack early but Thailand’s stubborn defence kept her at bay. Snatching at some of her chances and passes frustrated The Matildas attack.

Lisa De Vanna - 6.5

Gave Australia their first sight on goal with a vicious shot on 11 minutes. Scuffed a golden opportunity in an uncharacteristic lapse in concentration when she failed to square a ball to an open Katrina Gorry.  Some determined fighting spirit kept the Matildas going into extra time.

Substitutes

Steph Catley - 6

Her first defensive touch ended in Kanjana one-on-one with Arnold who saved her blushes with a save. Experience came through as the Matildas shored up at the back and went onto the front foot.

Emily Van Egmond - 7

The Matildas were definitely much more settled and actually began to fashion chances as Van Egmond was able to bring stability and calm.

Samantha Kerr - 6.5

Kerr couldn’t convert chances in the box but slotted home the winning penalty.
