The 32-year old has been linked with Sydney, Central Coast and Perth who are reportedly interested in securing his signature when he comes off contract with the Fury at the end of the season.

But McBreen has hinted that he'll stay loyal to the club where he's re-discovered his form and love for the game.

"I'm talking with the club here trying to sort out a new deal to stay here, I'll just see what comes of that and hopefully we can work something out," he said.

Despite admitting he's an asset to the team, coach Ian Ferguson was reluctant to speculate on his Fury playing future.

"I don't want to start talking about signing players just now," Ferguson said. "We've got a massive battle in front of us, we're sitting at the bottom of the table and I want to get us off there first before I start considering who we're going to sign...

"He (McBreen) knows he's doing a good job here. At the end of the day we'll sit down with him when the time's right."

Ferguson has named McBreen in the squad to take on Gold Coast United at Skilled Park in Round 13 of the Hyundai A-League after he recovered from hamstring and calf injuries.

"The hamstring was more painful so we sort of concentrated on that," McBreen said of his recovery. "Then when that went away it went to the calf...so that took me an extra day or two to get over it, but everything seems to be fine now."

The injuries forced McBreen to sit out Fury's 2-1 win over Perth. It was made even more painful by the fact Qantas Socceroos assistant coach Graham Arnold was at the game, scouting him for possible national selection.

But the team larrikin was still able to joke about it.

"I know Arnie (Arnold) from way back in my Newcastle days so I spoke to him after the game and he just said...thanks for wasting my weekend," McBreen laughed.

"It's always disappointing (to be injured) when he's up here to watch but I've just got to get on with it, he's got tapes from other games. If it happens it happens."

Meantime, the club is expected to shortly secure striker Dyron Daal on a longer term deal.

The Dutchman, who nailed a stunning strike to seal last week's home victory, has been somewhat of a surprise packet this season after coming in on two injury contracts.

He'll likely take over the injured Scott Wilson's (knee) visa spot for the remainder of the season.
