Brisbane Roar captain Matt McKay is confident the club will continue its impressive record at home and has no concerns for the state of the pitch at Suncorp Stadium.
The Roar play Newcastle Jets at home on Saturday just a fortnight after Western Sydney Wanderers coach Tony Popovic slammed the state of the Suncorp pitch.
McKay said he was pleased the club remained undefeated at Suncorp this season.
“We’ve got a great home record even when the pitch has struggled, we’re extremely comfortable there, it’s had a few weeks to recover so I’m sure it’ll be fun,” McKay said.
“We’ve had enough time there over the years, everyone’s played there so we don’t really need a familiarisation session.”
The Roar were handed their second loss of the season with a 2-0 defeat to a high-flying Sydney FC away last week.
The other loss came in Round 2 when Brisbane were thumped 4-0 by the Jets.
The match will be a 3rd V 7th clash with Newcastle being handed a 4-2 drubbing to Melbourne Victory in Geelong last night.
McKay said it was not about revenge but hadded he was undecided on where his team sat overall.
“I’m not even sure where we are at the moment to be honest, if you get a run of wins together then I think it really helps you,” he said.
“We need to produce performances that get us wins and if we do that then we’ll be up the pointy end of the table.
“We’ve come a long way since then (4-0 loss to Jets) we’re 100 per cent a better side from there and I think we can show that this weekend.
“From there we haven’t played best in every game, but when we have we’ve got the right results. We can replicate what we’ve been doing in the last 10 weeks up against Newcastle.”
