Goals from Massimo Maccarone and Ivan Franjic sealed the win which lifts Roar up to seventh on the ladder, ahead of Wanderers who drop to eighth.

McKay was full of praise for former Lille midfielder Bautheac who pulled the strings in midfield.

"Very good. He's an outlet for us," McKay told Fox Sports.

"He's a bit of difference for us. He can dribble, he can take them on, I don't know how many times he was fouled today, it must be 10.

"He was great for us today, we need that each week."

Roar were also without Brett Holman and Fahid Ben Khalfallah due to injury, joining the likes of Luke DeVere, Corey Brown, Jade North, Michael Theo, Shannon Brady and Thomas Kristensen on the sidelines.

"It was difficult for us last week," McKay said. "It's reported that we've got heaps of guys out but we've got to concentrate on what we've got.

"I thought everyone stood up today, did a job. The positive is we have got guys coming back.

"It was a really solid performance, we dug in in these conditions."
