Without a win in the Hyundai A-League since November 21, Central Coast has had a horror run of results which has seen it slip from serious title contender to also-ran.

But with the club still in contention to finish with the dreaded wooden-spoon, McKinna said there was a real determination to give the home fans something to cheer about and beat the Jets at Bluetongue Stadium.

"It's important to finish as high up as possible," McKinna said.

"Our results haven't been good but we've got two games to go and will go out and try and win both of them.

"We want to win on Saturday night for our fans and finally give them something to cheer about."

The final two matches of the season also provide several Mariners players a chance to prove they are worth keeping on for another season.
