Victory went goalless for the third consecutive match this season and struggled to find cohesion in attack.

Durakovic admitted the first-half performance wasn't good enough but said Victory improved after the break. However he admitted the structure still wasn't there but sounded out a warning to rival clubs once they get it right.

“We'll work on the training pitch and as soon as we can get this structure right there'll be no stopping us going forward,” Durakovic told Fox Sports.

“We just need to get this system and structure right. We've got the players to put the ball in the back of the net and the sooner we do that the better. It was a fantastic crowd tonight, but I feel sorry for them for not seeing a goal.”

On the derby draw, Durakovic added: “The first half was not good enough but we were much better in the second-half. We created a few chances in the second-half and we held the ball quite well in the second-half.”

Glamour signing Harry Kewell failed to spark for Victory and Durakovic said they were still trying to find the right role for him after starting him in behind striker Archie Thompson.

“We want to play Harry where he suits us best. We played him in behind the striker in the first-half and he didn't get enough of the ball. He went out wide and we changed the structure in the second-half and I thought we did quite well,” Durakovic said.

Durakovic also insisted the atmosphere within the playing squad was fine despite another goalless performance.

“The atmosphere is fantastic. The boys are professional but we just need to put the ball in the back of the net but that final pass is absolutely killing us. With a magnificent crowd behind us, we need to do better,” he said.

Thompson told Fox Sports he was disappointed and frustrated by the result in front of almost 40,000 fans and apologised to the Victory supporters for another goalless performance.

“It's disappointing that these fans have got to come and see this type of footy that we're playing at the moment,” he said.

“It's disappointing and it's frustrating. The team we have, it's a very good team but it's just not happening at the moment. I just have to say sorry to the supporters because it's not happening at the moment.

“Everything is hunky dorey at training during the week, we look sharp, but as soon as we come on the pitch we look scared. It's disappointing because a club like us shouldn't be playing that type of footy.”

He concluded: “To go already three games and only have two points and not even one goal, it speaks for itself.”

Heart forward Mate Dugandzic, who was a threat throughout, said he felt his side should've claimed the points.

"It was a bit disappointing because I thought we dominated the game. We had our chances but we didn't take them so it was unfortunate for us," he said.

"We want to get our first win on the board. After two disappointing losses and a draw in a game where I thought we should've won the game, it is disappointing."
