Melbourne Victory has failed in an attempt to sign joey midfielder Kaz Patafta.
It is believed the club had a verbal agreement with Patafta, but pushes to get him to put pen to paper have failed. It seems the rocky relationship that the club has with player agents is responsible in the break down of negotiations.
It seems Sydney are now in the box seat to sign the player many regard as the next Harry Kewell.
