Last weekend's 3-0 win at Bologna extended Milan's unbeaten run to seven games and left them six points clear at the top of Serie A.

But Milan's Scudetto credentials will be tested when they come up against a strong Roma team on Saturday night.

"Roma are a great team, made up of champions," Gattuso told www.acmilan.com.

"Early in the season, they lost some ground but now they have recovered and they are doing well.

"Our enthusiasm is high and you can see that in training.

"But there is still a long way to go and although we have not won the Scudetto in a while, we must think one game at a time."

Roma travel to the San Siro on the back of a 1-0 triumph over Bari that lifted the club to sixth in the standings, 10 points behind Milan.

Having beaten Inter and Lazio, and held Juventus to a 1-1 draw in Turin, Roma coach Claudio Ranieri is confident going into the game against the Rossoneri.

"We have always played well in big games," said Ranieri. "We are more than capable of getting a good result on Saturday."

Juventus, Lazio and Napoli each have 30 points in joint second and are trying to keep the pressure on Milan.

Juve are unbeaten in 12 league games and visit Chievo on Sunday.

Lazio, meanwhile, will be keen to bounce back from last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Juve when they take on Udinese in Rome.

Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri will be forced to make wholesale changes to the side that won 1-0 at Genoa in the last round when they host Lecce as Hugo Campagnaro, Paolo Cannavaro, Salvatore Aronica and Michele Pazienza are all suspended.

Football fans in Genoa could not have asked for a more exciting way to end 2010 than with Sunday's "lantern derby".

Victory for Genoa would see them leapfrog Samp in the standings.

Domenico Di Carlo's Samp are two points clear of Genoa currently.

Fifth-placed Palermo hope to end a good week on a high with a victory at rock-bottom Bari on Sunday.

The Sicilian club beat Parma 3-1 last weekend before edging Lausanne 1-0 in their final Europa League clash in midweek.

While they did not progress in that competition, at least they finished it with a victory.

Bari are five points adrift of safety and have not won in the league since September 26.

Two teams looking to avoid the drop this season will battle it out at the Ennio Tardini stadium on Sunday when Bologna visit Parma.

Bologna are one point clear of their 16th-placed hosts.

Catania, who are 15th in the standings because of their good form at home where they have lost just once, take on Brescia.

Strugglers Cesena are on a four-match winless run heading into their home clash with Cagliari on Saturday.

Cesena are 19th in the standings, three points behind safety.
