AC Milan intend to appeal the three-match ban imposed on striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after he was dismissed in yesterday's Serie A match against Bari.
The Sweden striker hit out at Marco Rossi off the ball in the 73rd minute of the 1-1 draw and was given his marching orders.
The league today confirmed the 29-year-old would receive a three-match ban for the offence, which will rule him out of the upcoming derby against Inter Milan.
In a short statement this evening, Milan said: "AC Milan will appeal against the disciplinary action imposed on Zlatan Ibrahimovic."
The striker stands to miss matches at Palermo and Fiorentina, as well as the Milan derby on April 3.
Milan lead Serie A by five points from their city rivals with nine matches to play.
