The A-League new boys meet in a pre-season trial game at Skilled Park on Tuesday June 23(7.30pm kick off).

The United head coach says the game will be the team's first real test as they prepare for the club's inaugural A-League season, adding that he fully intends to field his strongest available side for the clash against Ian Ferguson's men.

"The game versus North Queensland Fury will be our first serious challenge against a team from the Hyundai A-League and I think there is additional interest because it is a match between the two newest clubs.

"All the recent speculation regarding where this game will be played has just added more spice to the match and I'm sure the supporters will be entertained.

"For the coaches of both teams it will be a very useful exercise and will give us an indication of where we both stand in terms of our recruiting, etc.

"It will be our first test and I'll be looking to put my best eleven players on the park; I won't be holding back," said Bleiberg.

The final pieces of Bleiberg's jigsaw are now falling into place with the arrival of his import players, skipper Jason Culina, experienced campaigners Matt Osman and Adam Griffiths, as well as the imminent landing of striker Joel Porter.

The Fury clash will be the first opportunity for United's players and fans to get a feel for the surroundings of Skilled Park, with Bleiberg looking forward to the increased intensity of playing one of their A-League rivals.

"For Jason Culina, Joel Porter, Bas Van den Brink and our Brazilian trio it will be their introduction to the Hyundai A-League and they will benefit enormously from the match," said Bleiberg.

He added: "Our players also need to see where they stand at this stage of our preparation and it will be great for them to have full 90-minute run at Skilled Park."

Ticket details for the game will appear on the Gold Coast United website as soon as they become available.
