Montenegro 2 Hungary 1
Montenegro kicked off their footballing life as an independent nation with a come-from behind win at home to Hungary.
Tamas Priskin put the once-mighty visitors from Hungary ahead in the opening minutes.
However, Mirko Vucinic pulled the new boys level in the second half from the penalty spot.
Vucinic then had a hand in the deciding goal when he won the spot-kick from which the game was won.
It fell to Igor Burzanovic to convert from the spot eight minutes from time.
The tiny nation split from Serbia last year following a referendum, setting up its new Football Federation after last year`s World Cup finals which saw them compete with their neighbours as Serbia & Montenegro when Montenegrins had already voted to secede.
Their first competitive game will come in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup following the decision by UEFA to recognise Montenegro as a member this year.
The qualifying groups for Euro 2008 had already been decided by the time Montenegro split from Serbia last year, and the Serbians took the berth that had been allocated in that competition.
