EXCLUSIVE: Eighteen year old Luke De Vere's reputation continues to grow with Socceroo great Craig Moore singing the Brisbane lad's praises.
But he also has some advice for his fellow Roar defender.
"The parts of his game that will come in time are distribution. And also it's about finding that right position as a defender. And that will come with experience," Moore told The Socceroo magazine.
De Vere, 18, has started five games for Queensland this season before international duty with the Young Socceroos took him away briefly.
And while fellow youngster Matt Mundy has also stepped up in his absence, all eyes are on De Vere as he cements his burgeoning reputation.
The Melbourne-born teen was signed by Frank Farina in the off-season after spells at the AIS. The former junior from Gap Gators in Brisbane has been a credible replacement for star defender Sasa Ognenovski at Suncorp.
"First and foremost, Luke's got a fantastic attitude and he's a great player to work with. As a footballer, he's very strong. He can handle himself extremely well against some of the bigger boys in the Hyundai A-League," added Moore.
"He's definitely done extremely well and I think he has a bright future. He has the right head for the game and he works hard and takes a lot of the right options."
