With a special 16-man squad having flown out of Brisbane with Coach Frank Farina this morning, Moore said the round 11 fixture was shaping up to be their toughest match so far in the campaign.

“Adelaide have been extremely consistent this season and are coming off the back of a couple of really good wins,” said Moore.

“They’ve been scoring three and four goals a game, so they’re a team that’s going to be full of confidence. Hopefully we can catch them possibly a little bit overconfident and get a good result; we’re underdogs going into this game, without a shadow of doubt, but we need to go there and try to win the game.

“We’ll go out to try and score goals and attack, and hopefully we can get into a leading position early. But we’ll also be smarter as far as killing the game off is concerned; that was a problem against Perth and to throw that game away was disappointing.”

With Roar teenage guns Robbie Kruse and Michael Zullo having somewhat stolen the spotlight in recent weeks, Moore said the rapidly rising talents of Adelaide’s younger ranks would make for an interesting battle no matter what the result.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how all these young guys go tomorrow night and in a way that could even things out for both our teams,” he said.

“Adelaide have got a few good young players, much like ourselves, and it’s great for the game. These are the players that you hope are going to go on and have big careers in the future of Australian football. It’s nice to be talking about young players, whether it be at our club or other clubs.”

With last Saturday night’s super-sub Simon Lynch tipped to again start on the bench tomorrow night, Moore said the 25-year-old Scottish striker would benefit hugely from his two-goal contribution.

“He came on as a substitute and scored to goals, so that’s obviously fantastic for him and strikers thrive on putting the ball in the back of the net. It’s definitely going to help him and he’ll be feeling more confident ahead of the game.”

Lynch echoed his captain’s sentiments, adding that his main goal now was to regain his spot in the starting eleven.

“I think those goals will do a lot for my confidence, but it’s going to be a big challenge this week; we’re playing the in-form team but we’re all ready for it,” said Lynch.

“First and foremost, my priority is trying to get back into the team and to be starting games, but until I do that, hopefully I can make an impact off the bench.

“Adelaide are flying just now; I don’t think many people will expect us to get a result out of it, but there’s pressure from within our own camp to do well. I think it’s going to be an attacking game from both sides, and hopefully we can come home with a result.”
