Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is celebrating striker Adriano's return to form.
The Brazil international scored Inter's opener in Sunday's 2-1 derby win over AC Milan as the Nerazzurri climbed 11 points clear of their city rivals and nine ahead of second-placed Juventus.
"It is a gamble where everyone is the winner," said Moratti.
"Jose Mourinho has done a good job in getting him in the right frame of mind and form and this can only give me pleasure.
"Adriano was ready for the challenge against AC Milan just as he has been in previous games. This is great news for us and for him."
Adriano had struggled to make an impact and had endured a strained relationship with coach Mourinho earlier in the season.
Inter had even considered sending the frontman out on loan during the winter transfer window, but the decision to retain the South American star and the player's positive approach in training have seen him clinch a regular spot in Mourinho's starting XI.
Adriano, who turned 27 today, now hopes to fire Inter to victory in the Champions League, but first the holders stand in their way.
Inter host Manchester United in the last 16 of the tournament on February 24.
"I will have to give my all if Mourinho puts me in the team," said the striker.
"It's a hugely important game for the club and for the fans. You cannot imagine how important it is for us, the players, and if given the chance, I will not hold back."
Inter will first meet Bologna on Saturday seeking to enhance their bid to lift a fourth straight Scudetto and a first under Mourinho, who replaced Roberto Mancini as boss last summer.
