MELBOURNE Victory goalkeeper Glen Moss has been promised a spot on the All Whites plane to South Africa even though he's suspended for the first two group matches.
Moss had been New Zealand's first choice custodian before he was hit with a four-match ban for swearing at an official during a match against Fiji.
It meant the former Wellington Phoenix keeper missed the two play-off matches against Bahrain and he will have to sit out a big chunk of next year's tournament as well.
"Glen will go, I'll definitely take him," Herbert told the Dominion Post. "There's no decision to make on that one."
Mark Paston and James Bannatyne will be the other two goalkeepers in the squad - Herbert hoping that neither gets injured during or just ahead of those first two group games.
Herbert added: "Glen and Mark are the best two keepers we've got and they're both going. Glen is young and he will play many more matches for New Zealand team so we want him to be there."
