Kevin Muscat has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Glasgow Rangers.
According to The Scottish Sun, Muscat's name has been put on a shortlist to replace Mark Warburton but is considered an outsider for the job. Warbuton was sacked from Rangers last week.
The Melbourne Victory coach played for the Scottish club in the 2002/2003 season, making 22 appearances and helping them win a domestic treble of trophies.
Muscat has been in charge of Victory since 2013.
A Victory spokesperon told The Age: "We have been aware of this story through the day but have not received any inquiries about it or about Kevin Muscat."
The A-League club are due to take on Central Coast on Sunday.
