Japan midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura celebrated his return to the J. League as Yokohama F. Marinos beat Shonan Bellmare 3-0 at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.
Former Celtic midfielder Nakamura, playing his first match in Japan after ending an eight-year spell in Europe with an unsuccessful time in Spain with Espanyol, provided the cross for Yuzo Kurihara to open the scoring after 22 minutes.
With 31-year-old Nakamura playing a central role as Yokohama dominated the contest the home side added a second a minute after the hour mark as Kazuma Watanabe followed up to turn home the rebound from Koji Yamase's effort.
With six minutes remaining Nakamura's replacement Kenta Kano fired home from outside the area as Yokohama picked up their first points of the new season.
"I'm glad we won at home as I knew the first game would be difficult," said Nakamura, who began his career with Yokohama before moving to Italy with Reggina in 2002.
"My passing was still erratic in the first half, but I know I can fix that and my combination work with the rest of the team can get better. I hope I can work well for our team."
In Toyota, North Korea striker Jong Tae-se scored a last-minute winner as Kawasaki Frontale edged out Nagoya Grampus 3-2.
In a seesaw contest, Brazilian striker Renatinho put Frontale ahead after just three minutes with a curling free-kick, but the home side were back on level terms after six minutes as Mu Kanazaki slotted home from close range.
Jong's 16th-minute free-kick restored Kawasaki's lead after 16 minutes before Nagoya came close to equalising through Japan striker Keiji Tamada and Australian strike partner Josh Kennedy.
With 12 minutes remaining Magnum headed home a free-kick from substitute midfielder Igor Burzanovic.
But Kawasaki maintained their 100% start to the new season as Jong turned home a loose ball from close range to hand Nagoya a first defeat of the campaign.
Newly-promoted Vegalta Sendai share top spot with Kawasaki after two games as Ryang Yong-gi, Elizeu and Fernandinho scored to secure a 3-1 triumph over Omiya Ardija.
Elsewhere, Jungo Fujimoto, Shinji Okazaki and Teruyoshi Ito scored as Shimizu S-Pulse beat Montedio Yamagata 3-0, while Albirex Niigata were held to a 1-1 draw by Jubilo Iwata.
