THE FFA-funded club heeded fans' demands and shunned overtures from ANZ Stadium to establish Parramatta as the Wanderers base for all games, including the potentially sell-out derby clashes with Sydney FC.

The club also unveiled NRMA Insurance as their front of shirt sponsors in a lucrative three year deal for the fledgling side.

The deal however includes naming rights, with the club now officially called the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC in the official media release on the announcement.

Wanderers Chairman Lyall Gorman hailed the Parramatta deal as key for the club's community spirit.

"We have maintained from the very beginning that the future direction of our club will wherever possible be built for and by the people of Western Sydney,” he said.

“The strong feedback from the in-depth consultation process we have undertaken through our various fan forums and surveys has told us strongly that Parramatta needed to be our home playing venue.

“We are equally excited about the strategic direction of Venues NSW and its future aspirations for the enhancement and development of Parramatta Stadium.

“We have committed to working together in a partnership model with the management at the stadium with a view to growing our membership base, crowds and corporate partners in the mutual interest of all parties and we are genuinely excited about the possibilities in that regard,"

NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation Graham Annesley added: "Today’s announcement will create a huge buzz throughout Western Sydney as another sporting code has identified the region as a rich source of talent.

“Football is the largest participation sport in the country with the Western Sydney Wanderers to play their inaugural A-League match against the Central Coast Mariners at Parramatta Stadium in early October."

Gorman also welcomed the club's lucrative sosnorship deal and said the new tie up with NRMA Insurance was a perfect fit for the club.

“NRMA Insurance has such a distinguished history and proud association with Western Sydney," said Gorman.

"To secure this blue-chip company as our first Naming Rights and Major Sponsor is a huge coup for this club.

“They can see the huge potential for success in this football club and are closely aligned with us on the grass roots and community foundations that the Wanderers will be built upon.

“This is a landmark moment for the Western Sydney community.”

NRMA Insurance Chief Executive Andy Cornish added: “NRMA Insurance is hugely excited about the prospects of the Western Sydney Wanderers.

“We have waited some time for the right local sport partnership so it’s with great pleasure that we announce our role as major sponsor of the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers.

"The season is just around the corner and everyone is looking forward to working alongside a club that is bursting with potential."
