Newcastle are interested in Colombian striker Sergio Herrera, currently playing for Deportivo Cali in Colombia. Herrera, 26, has recently had stints in Saudi Arabia with Al Ittihad so he is no stranger to Asian football, as well as spells at Atlético Paranaense and America de Cali. Herrera has 11 caps for Colombia and appears a possibility to fill the boots of v2 Novocastrian cult hero Milton Rodriguez and his signing would be a real coup for the Jets who are rebuilding after the uncertainty following their Grand Final victory.
