Eduardo Vargas scored a fantastic equaliser for Chile after the hour mark as the visitors came from behind to draw having initially led through Marcos Gonzalez's eighth-minute opener.

Neymar played a role in both of Brazil's goals but it was not one of the best performances from the 21-year-old forward, who was heckled by the home crowd at times, including after he wasted a huge opportunity in the 35th minute.

As the match was held outside FIFA's international windows, both teams were missing their European-based players with Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari using the opportunity to test other players before announcing his Confederations Cup squad on May 14.

Gonzalez opened the scoring for Chile when he got his head to a loose ball in the penalty area and nodded it past Brazil goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri.

The Brazilian custodian had initially parried a free-kick away but the ball looped up into the air and Gonzalez rose above Leandro Damiao to score.

Neymar sent in the corner for Rever's equaliser in the 25th minute with the 192cm central defender meeting the cross at the six-yard box and powering his header past Johnny Herrera in Chile's goal.

Brazil took the lead in the 55th minute after opening up Chile's defence with a string of one-touch passes before Alexandre Pato squared the ball to Neymar to tap home.

But Vargas ensured the visitors claimed a draw when he drove through the middle of the pitch and then curled his shot from around 30 yards around Cavalieri and into the net.

In the 90th minute, Chilean midfielder Braulio Leal was sent off for a crunching tackle.
