Nike has released special edition 'Golden Touch' Mercurial Vapors following Luka Modric's Ballon d'Or win with 1,500 pairs available per model.

The Croatian claimed the Ballon d'Or trophy after his role in leading Croatia to the World Cup final and playing a part of Real Madrid's Champions League triumph.

Modric ended Ronaldo and Messi's dominance over the award and has been honoured with the 'Golden Touch' boots that are available as both Superfly VI and as Vapor XII.

The detail is impressive, a clean silver design with the black Nike swoosh-tick outlined in gold.

They come with a fingerprint design tying in with the 'Golden Touch' theme of the boots, much like Modric's own ability in ball control.

Nike and Adidas have made it a custom to honour the Player of the Year with custom boots, and this marks the first personalised boots Modric has received from Nike.

The boots worthy of a Ballon d'Or winner were revealed shortly after Modric was awarded the trophy, and are now available in limited quantity.
