BRISBANE Roar coach Ange Postecoglou was full of praise for his dominant side despite their profligacy in front of goal in Saturday night's 1-1 draw with Newcastle Jets at Suncorp Stadium.
"I can't have any complaints tonight," Postecoglou said. "We created enough opportunities, their ‘keeper was outstanding - 99 per cent of it was good.
"We didn't get the result, but even though we're in the business of results, we're also in the business of trying to improve as a team.
"I thought the performance tonight was really good, particularly in the second half we knocked it around well and created some good opportunities for ourselves."
Newcastle coach Branko Culina admitted Brisbane were good value, but rued his side's defending for the goal they conceded.
"You can't take anything away from Brisbane, I think they deserved something from the game, there is no doubt about that but our goal keeper Ben Kennedy was superb tonight," he said.
"Maybe one or two chances that they had they should have scored and they didn't but I think they scored from one that I think we could have and should have defended."
Jets keeper Ben Kennedy was superb in goal and said he expected a busy night.
"They kept on attacking but we expected that because they are a sharp side and they were playing at home," he said.
"All year they have been one of the better attacking teams and we expected that but I felt that for 75 minutes we defended well but unfortunately we couldn't hold on."
Second-placed Brisbane are next in action in midweek at home to Central Coast Mariners, while tenth-placed Newcastle host North Queensland on Wednesday October 27.
