OCCASIONAL Socceroo Nick Carle is convinced the floodgates will open once his goal-free Crystal Palace side finally manage to hit the back of the net.
The Eagles have failed to score in any of their three Championship fixtures this season and suffered a 4-0 Carling Cup thrashing against League One side Leeds United in midweek.
The Elland Road reverse followed a weekend goalless draw against Burnley when Palace had two players sent off.
Carle told the News Shopper: "Sometimes it takes something like that to bring a team together and I thought we showed a lot of fighting spirit. If you're not a team, you're not going to go anywhere.
“There have been patches where we've shown we can really play. We've got really good talent in the changing room.”
The Australian is happy with the team spirit and is also confident that goals aren’t too far away.
He said: “It's something we're going to have to work hard at, but as soon as that first one comes, they'll keep coming."
