Disgruntled fans this week launched a stinging attack on the club's hierarchy and demanded changes to the way the Light Blues are run.

Chairman Sir David Murray hit back, insisting he and the board always make decisions in the best interest of Rangers.

The spat threatens to spill over onto the terraces, with the 'We Deserve Better' campaign planning a demonstration at the club's Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Dundee United at the end of the month.

A section of supporters at Tuesday night's Homecoming Scottish Cup win at St Johnstone unfurled a banner which read, 'David Murray must go'.

Similar slogans could be on display at Ibrox tomorrow when Rangers host Falkirk in the SPL, but defender Papac is certain he and his team-mates will not be distracted from their attempt to cut Celtic's lead to two points.

He told STV: "When you play at a team like Rangers, every game you are under pressure.

"This is normal when you play at a big club like Rangers.

"We can live with this and there is no problem."

Former Rangers striker John MacDonald agrees with Papac but still urged supporters to get behind Murray.

"Rangers have just been hit by the credit crunch like anybody else," he said.

"David Murray has already told everybody if he can find a buyer to take the club, he'll sell it to them.

"He has not done them wrong before so they should stand by him and hopefully he'll turn it around.

"If David Murray just upped and left, Rangers would be in dire straits."

MacDonald reckons the players can help their under-fire chairman, saying: "If Rangers win the league this year, it takes the pressure off again."

Steven Pressley is set to make his Falkirk debut at his former club and he believes his current employers can help him emulate Ibrox defender David Weir by prolonging his career well into his late 30s.

The 35-year-old ex-Celtic and Hearts centre-half this week joined the Bairns until the end of the season.

Given his Scotland coaching role and the fact he is currently working towards his UEFA pro licence, Pressley could be forgiven for winding down and looking towards management.

The 32-capped player, however, claims he only needs to look at 38-year-old Weir to believe his own playing days are far from over.

He said: "Although I have aspirations to go into management and I'm doing my pro licence, that's some time ahead. I would love to play for several more years.

"Without doubt, Falkirk can give me the opportunity to carry on until Davie Weir's sort of age.

"But it depends on the individual and his career. Especially in the latter part of his career he has been fortunate to avoid any serious injuries that have kept him out for any length of time.

"There is a possibility to play on to a very old age in football terms."

Meanwhile, manager John Hughes is "75%" certain of signing former Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Dani Mallo until the end of the season.

Hughes has been seeking back-up for Robert Olejnik since the end of Scott Flinders' loan spell from Crystal Palace.

Mallo has impressed on trial and a deal is in the offing, but the move is unlikely to be tied up in time for the Spaniard to be named in the squad for tomorrow's game.
