MATHEW Leckie wants to see out the A-League campaign with Adelaide United and claim silverware as he edges towards his expected exit to the Bundesliga.
The player's agent has told the Adelaide Advertiser that an agreement is close with German outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach.
A three-year deal is thought to be on the table for the youngster. But the player is in no immediate rush and wants to see out the A-League campaign.
"I would definitely rather stay for the season for both me and the club," he said. " We are having a really great season. I want to be part of the whole thing.
"Adelaide gave me the opportunity and I took it, but I would never have had it if it wasn't for them. I would like to prove how happy I am with the chance."
But Leckie's immediate priority is winning a fitness battle to face Melbourne Victory. He is confident the Reds can end their miserable run against Ernie Merrick's men.
He added: "The boys are all pumped to win."
