NORTH Queensland Fury won't be making Kenyan triallist Francis Ouma's stay in Townsville permanent after revealing he's been sent home.
Ouma, who had been trialling with the Fury for the past month, has featured in several recent pre-season matches against local opposition but hasn't done enough to impress.
The Kenyan had hoped to become North Queensland's fifth visa player but assistant coach Stuart McLaren said they wouldn't be offering him a deal.
"At this time we have decided not to offer Francis a contact for the forthcoming season," McLaren told the Townsville Bulletin.
The Fury currently have registered 19 players ahead of the new campaign, but have publicly admitted they are only looking for one more before the new season begins, despite being allowed to sign 23 players.
McLaren added: "He is a good player, and has shown improvement during his time with us, but with only one visa spot remaining in this year's squad, he isn't the type of footballer we are after to complete our line-up.
"We will continue to offer support and advice to help his development and monitor his progress closely.
"Francis returns to Kenya with the best wishes of everyone at the Fury and knows he can always turn to us for support in the future."
