Valencia's hopes of claiming a Champions League berth at the end of the season have taken a hit after it was confirmed influential midfielder David Silva could be out for "two to three weeks" with a thigh injury.
The worst-case scenario would mean the Spanish international misses all three of Valencia's remaining matches this season, which see Los Che face crucial encounters away to Atletico Madrid and Villarreal before completing their season at home to Athletic Bilbao.
Cash-strapped Valencia are currently fourth in the standings, one point ahead of fifth-placed Atletico and three in front of seventh-placed Villarreal.
