"Apparently I'm supposed to do a medical tomorrow," the Jets skipper said after the game against Sydney yesterday. "Someone told me in the change room."

North has already agreed to join new A-League franchise North Queensland Fury for next season as their marquee signing.

However, Newcastle chairman Con Constantine recently confirmed in the press he'd spoken at length with his skipper about making his well-known overseas ambitions come true.

If that eventuated, the Jets would receive financial compensation for their indigenous captain since a clause in the deal North agreed with Fury allows him to depart if an overseas club makes an offer for his services before June 30 next year.

"As far as I know, I don't know. I think I've got no idea. Whoever... the rumours that come out, I've got no idea," North added.

Coach Gary Van Egmond later said that he too was unaware of the North talk.
