New Zealand striker Allen Pearce could be snapped up by the Newcastle Jets after scoring the decisive goal in Waitakere's win in the recent New Zealand Championship grand final. Pearce is a player also capable of playing behind the front two which is why Gary Van Egmond has shown early interest in him, with the attacking midfield/ striker likely to sit in behind Joel Griffiths and an import striker should he make the move
