Birmingham midfielder Neil Kilkenny has joined Oldham on loan despite interest from a number of Coca-Cola Championship clubs.
The Australian and former Arsenal trainee, 21, has moved to Boundary Park on a deal initially until January 1 after falling down the pecking order at St Andrews.
It is the second time the former Arsenal trainee has joined the Latics on loan, having enjoyed a six-month spell with the club in 2004/05.
He made 25 appearances for the Blues as they were unable to avoid relegation from the Premier League in 2005/06, but started just two games last season.
