In the English Premier League, Mile Jedinak played a full game in midfield as Crystal Palace held Everton to a 0-0 draw. Jedinak played a key role in Palace picking up their fifth point of the season, breaking up copious amounts of play and proving crucial in defending Everton’s set pieces.

Chris Herd was an unused substitute as Aston Villa beat Cardiff City 2-0, while Mark Schwarzer was an unused substitute as Chelsea drew 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion.

Elsewhere, Brad Jones was an unused substitute as Liverpool thumped struggling Fulham 4-0.

In the Championship, Rhys Williams played a full game at right-back and provided an assist as Middlesbrough drew 2-2 with Watford. Williams got involved in a neat passing move before setting up Albert Adamoah with a clever back-heel which the Ghanaian rocketed past Watford ‘keeper Manuel Almunia.

Shane Lowry played a full game at left-back and provided an assist as Millwall lost 3-1 to Bolton. Lowry, restored to the starting line-up following an injury to Scott Malone, found Jermaine Easter with a precise pass on 28 minutes with the Welshman smashing a stunning shot into the top corner.Scott McDonald missed the clash through injury.

Elsewhere, Adam Federici was an unused substitute as Reading drew 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers, while Alex Cisak was an unused substitute as Burnley drew 1-1 with Bournemouth.

In Round 1 of the FA Cup, Massimo Luongo played a full game as Swindon Town suffered a shock 4-0 thumping from non-league side Macclesfield Town.

James Wesolowski played a full game as Oldham Athletic drew 1-1 with Wolverhampton. Bradden Inman was a 59th minute substitute as Crewe Alexandra drew 1-1 with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers. Inman had a chance to win the cup-tie for his side but fired over from inside the box.

Ryan Williams was a 71st minute substitute as Oxford United drew 2-2 with non-league side Gateshead FC. Former Dundee FC goalkeeper Alex Baird was an unused substitute for Gateshead.

Aaron Downes played a full game in defence as Torquay United were eliminated from the competition following a 2-0 loss to Rochdale.

James Meredith played a full game at left-back as Bradford City were eliminated following a 3-0 loss to Rotherham United.

In the Scottish Premier League, Tom Rogic made his first appearance since August, coming on as an 80th minute substitute in Celtic’s 4-1 win over Ross County. Rogic fired a powerful drive from distance late in the contest which drew a decent save from County ‘keeper Mark Brown.

Dylan McGowan played a full game in defence as Hearts won their first league game since August with a 3-1 win over Aberdeen.

Elsewhere, Jackson Irvine was sent off as Kilmarnock lost 3-1 to St Johnstone. Irvine was shown a yellow card in the first half for simulation before seeing red for a mistimed challenge on Gary Miller.

In the German Bundesliga, Robbie Kruse was an 83rd minute substitute as Bayer Leverkusen beat Hamburg 5-3. Kruse’s battle for a regular starting berth suffered a blow with wingers Heung-Min Son and Sidney Sam playing starring roles for their side.

Elsewhere, Mitch Langerak was an unused substitute as Borussia Dortmund lost 2-1 to Wolfsburg.

In the German Second Division, Mathew Leckie played a full game in attack as FSV Frankfurt suffered a 4-0 thumping from FC Kaiserslautern.Nikita Rukavytsya partnered Leckie in attack, playing the full 90 minutes in the clash. Rukavytsya was dangerous throughout the contest but lacked the finishing touches on his impressive build up play. The former Perth Glory speedster won a first half penalty after being brought down by ‘keeper Tobias Sippel following a through ball from Leckie, but Sippel redeemed himself with a fine save to deny Bjorn Schlicke.

In the German Third Division, Mustafa Amini played a full game in midfield as Borussia Dortmund II lost 3-0 to RW Erfurt.

In the Dutch Eredivisie, Jason Davidson played a full game at left-back as Heracles lost 3-0 to FC Groningen. Davidson had a chance to score for his side just after half time but his effort on goal missed the target.

Tommy Oar played a full game as FC Utrecht lost 3-1 to Vitesse. Adam Sarota was absent from the match-day squad.

Elsewhere, Eli Babalj was absent with a groin problem as AZ Alkmaar drew 2-2 with Feyenoord.

In the Dutch Second Division, Travis Cooper was an 84th minute substitute as VVV Venlo drew 1-1 with FC Volendam.

In Russia, Luke Wilkshire played a full game as Dinamo Moscow beat Krylya Sovetov Samara 2-1.

In the Greek Super League, Apostolos Giannou found the back of the net for Panionios in their 2-1 win over Atromitos FC. Giannou opened the scoring on 5 minutes, capitalising on some calamitous goalkeeping from Michalis Sifakis to tap home from close range after Sifakis failed a control a simple back-pass.

In Austria, James Holland was missing through suspension as Austria Wien beat Wolfsberger AC 1-0.

In the Swiss Schweizer Cup, Dario Vidosic played a full game in midfield as FC Sion were eliminated from the competition following a 1-0 loss to FC Luzern. Oliver Bozanic played a full game in midfield for Luzern and had a good chance to score in the first half but his header from Jerome Thiesson’s cross missed the target.

In the Turkish Second Division, Kerem Bulut started but was replaced at half time as Karsiyaka drew 2-2 with Boluspor.

In South Korea, Alex Wilkinson played a full game in defence as Jeonbuk Motors lost 2-0 to Ulsan Hyundai.

Robbie Cornthwaite made his first start since July, playing 90 minutes as Chunnam Dragons beat Daegu FC 1-0.
